INFRASTRUCTURE
Chesapeake is located within 750 miles of two thirds
of the nation's population. The City is the region's transportation hub
with major west, north and south interstate highways, extensive rail service and
120 miles of commercial waterfront with 12 miles of deep draft channels.
The Port of Hampton Roads, one of the top five ports in the U.S. and the number
one coal exporter in the world, is accessible via the southern and western branches
of the Elizabeth River. Norfolk
International Airport is only 20 minutes away and the Chesapeake
Regional and Hampton
Roads Executive Airports provides corporate flight service.
